Art & Play Therapist

I am a BACP registered child and adolescent art and play therapist with over ten years of experience working with young people.

Before training to be a therapist, I was a primary school teacher. I also worked in PRUs and as a nanny, experiences that gave me comprehensive knowledge of the education, school, and care systems and of the various factors affecting young people’s mental health.

With this in mind, I have a good understanding of the ways exams can cause stress and anxiety for young people. I believe that art, play, and self-expression are powerful ways to address issues experienced by many children.

However, my therapeutic approach is always led by the child or adolescent. I guide young people with empathy and sensitivity and show them safe, contained ways to express and process any emotion that they are feeling. My approach is integrative and humanistic, with the individual needs of each person in the foreground.

I work closely with families in a nonjudgmental way to help them better understand their children’s needs.
