I am currently training as an integrative counsellor, with an emphasis on being Person-Centred. I use my training to draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic and Existent Theory. I believe in providing a non-judgemental and compassionate space for clients to use however they wish. My aim is to work together with the client, responding to their needs and creating an approach which works best for them. My hope is to help each client find their own path and to figure out how to overcome their own challenges. I believe that self-compassion and self-exploration can bring about positive change in any client’s life.
Before beginning my training as a therapist, I worked for a domestic abuse support charity, providing both women and men a place to be heard, and find them the support they need. I believe this gave me experience in listening to and understand some of the many traumas and reasons that have lead people into the counselling room, and just how personal these reasons can be.
