Integrative Counsellor

Are you struggling with a personal problem, depression, addiction, relationship, or sexuality issues? Do you feel stuck and lacking support? Do you find yourself wondering if you are making the best of your life? Do you feel overwhelmed by difficult situations or struggling with low self-esteem? Is making decisions leaving you full of doubt?

I am a BSc qualified integrative counsellor and a member of The British Association of Counseling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and British Psychological Society (BPS). I am fully insured, DBS checked, and, in my practice, I adhere to the BACP and BPS ethical frameworks. I commit to regular supervision and continuous professional development.

In my practice, I use a variety of theoretical approaches, including the Psychodynamic method, Person-Centred Theory, Existential Approach, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT). My philosophy is that each client’s experience of the world is unique, and I strive to provide a client-tailored approach in an open, friendly, and non-judgmental manner. My clients are the experts in their own lives, and my purpose is to assist them in discovering their hidden resources, empowering them to deal with difficult situations and experiences, and finding solutions for their well-being.

I believe that therapy is a co-creative process and that the therapeutic relationship is fundamental to any good therapeutic outcome. I believe that our capacity for meaningful, authentic, and reciprocal connections with other human beings is central to our sense of wellbeing and resilience. As a result, I strive to establish a trusting relationship in a warm and safe environment of full acceptance and unconditional positive regard. In such a setting, you can begin to express and explore difficult feelings and thoughts and gain a better understanding of yourself, your personal goals, your values. You can begin to break old dysfunctional patterns of behaviour and discover new, healthier, and happier ways of being. You can discover new ways of relating to yourself, to others and the world. My goal is to help you to recognise and express your true, authentic self and reach your full potential.

My past experiences include Lambeth Talking Therapies NHS high-intensity therapist – working with clients with depression and anxiety; The Awareness Centre- open-ended, long-term counselling; The Listening Place- working with high-risk clients who have lost the will to live; Women’s Aid – working with clients who have experienced sexual abuse and childhood trauma.
